The Scooters

Will I have to assemble the scooter when it arrives?

Depending on the scooter you choose, there may be a small amount of assembly required. You should always consult your user manual. For Xiaomi and Ninebot models you’ll just need to attach the handlebars by fastening 4 screws. Take care not to throw out any small bags of screws that might be difficult to spot in the box at first glance. You’ll often find them taped to the handlebars, so look out for them!

Does it come with a charger?

Yes, every scooter will come with a charger that has the standard UK plug. You may want to consider purchasing a second charger for your workplace/destination so that you can top up your scooter during the day in ready for the commute home! We will shortly be offering these as a standalone purchasable item.

What do I get in the box with my scooter?

What you get in your box will depend on the scooter you choose. Usually your box will contain the scooter itself, charging equipment, a manual and anything else you might need to set up your scooter. Your user manual will talk you through set up and how best to look after your scooter.

How long do they take to charge?

Every scooter is different so take a glance at the product page for each model as they do vary. To give you a ballpark, you can expect to charge a Xiaomi M365 to full in under 6hrs.

Should I use my scooter in the rain?

Light rain, no issue…. heavy downpour, best avoided. It’s best to avoid puddles too as the scooter motor and batteries could become damaged and stop working if your scooter is submerged in water. Always take extra care in poorer weather conditions because your visibility might be seriously reduced. Safety first!

Do you sell accessories or spare parts like tyres, chargers or puncture kits?

At the moment we only sell bolt-on battery packs for the Ninebot models, however we’ll stock a full range of scooter accessories in the near future.

What do I do if I have a problem with my scooter?

You can email us 24/7 at suppport@voltso.co  with details of the issue. Please include photos where possible to help us identify the issue so we can advise on the course of action without delay.

Do you repair the scooters?

At the moment we don’t offer a repair service. This is something we’re working on to deliver in the future, however.

Where do you deliver to?

We can deliver anywhere in the UK Mainland including Northern Ireland. Unfortunately, we can only currently deliver domestically. We hope to be able to service the rest of the world very soon.

What warranty do I get with my scooter?

Voltso are approved resellers of official UK products, all of which come with manufacturer’s warranty. The length and type of warranty varies from manufacturer to manufacturer. Below summaries the warranties included in our product line up;

Will my scooter be charged when it arrives?

Your scooter will have a small amount of charge when it arrives. After unboxing your scooter, we recommend that you give it a full charge as per your user manual before using it.


Can I ride my scooter on the road in the UK?

At the moment it is illegal to ride and electric scooter on pavements, cycle lanes and on public roads in the UK. You may ride your scooter on private land. We hope that as electric vehicles and electronic scooters become more popular, the UK government will update the law accordingly. This is something Voltso are actively campaigning for.

Do I need insurance for my scooter?

No, you don’t have to have insurance for your scooter. But you can buy a policy to cover it against theft or damage if you’d like. This might help with the cost of repair or replacement.
