Electric scooters are becoming more and more popular. Not only are they great for the environment, they’re compact, can get you to where you need to be faster and generally cost a lot less to run and maintain than other modes of transport.
Of course, the increased popularity of e-scooters means that there are more and more sellers of them appearing out of the woodwork to try and make some money off the back of the latest trend. You’ll see Ebay shops and Amazon sellers listing scooters for sale, but how can you be sure that what you’re buying is the real deal?
We’ve put together a few reasons why you should only ever consider buying an electric scooter from an official retailer.
Physical stock held in the UK
So, you’ve found a great deal on an electric scooter. It seems cheaper than most of the other options out there – you’ve done your research - and it comes with everything you need to get started. You should buy it right?
No. Always be sure to check out the seller you’re buying from. Their cheap price might mean that they’re importing their stock from another country. Meaning you could be liable for the import charge when your scooter arrives. Even if a seller looks legitimate, they may only make orders according to demand which might mean that you could end up waiting a while for your delivery.
Next day delivery
Buying from a retailer that holds their stock in the UK can ensure you get a better deal without having to wait a long time for delivery of your scooter. Meaning you’ll be zooming about in no time!
Most UK retailers will offer next day delivery, which means that if you’re buying for an occasion, trip or purchasing a last-minute gift (even if it was a well-deserved present for yourself) you can get it quickly.
If you decide that you don’t like your scooter, or if you need to return it for some reason, you’ll want to make sure that the retailer you’re buying from has a good returns policy. Make sure you read the returns policy before you buy so that you know what your obligations are should you need to send your scooter back. The speedier and easier the policy, the better!
Warranty dealt with in the UK
Another thing to look out for is warranty. Most scooters come with a warranty of some sort. Ours come with manufactures warranty (Typically 1 year for the Battery & 2 years for the body can vary from brand to brand) as standard and other retailers will vary on their policies. However, it’s worth checking that any warranties are dealt with in the UK.
Because let’s face it, it’ll be pretty annoying if something goes wrong with your scooter and you have to pay to ship it to China, wait months for the repair and then even longer for your scooter to make its way back to you.
At Voltso, all our stock is held in the UK, meaning that your warranty can be dealt with in the UK too. We offer speedy returns and can even do next day delivery if you need it. You can check out our range of scooters and accessories here.
